This first section of phase three is straightforward and involves the students in the regular community life of the formation house, study, prayer, sharing, pastoral work, and the acquisition of the essential pastoral skills.

They receive the ministry of Reader at the end of the first year and the ministry of Acolyte at the end of the second. At the end of the third year they renew their vows before embarking on MICE.

At the same time, a process of discernment will begin between the student, the Director of Formation and the Provincial with a view to discovering the type and location of the two-year missionary experience best suited to each individual.

In the third year of phase three the theological and pastoral studies are concluded, leading in May to final examinations for the BA in Theology & Anthropology, or other Postgraduate course.
