During his first years in Marianella the life of the student will centre around:
Lectures at the Milltown Institute of Theology and Philosophy (MITP) and at home. Attendance at lectures and study will demand the greatest portion of the student's time.
Community and personal prayer.
Living and growing in community.
Experience of Ministry

It is precisely around these four areas that growth and development take place. From these areas values will be taken on a personal and community level. There is a definite programme here to help a student grow and mature in each of the four areas.
During the summer months students have the option of finding a job.
This work experience plays an important role in the personal development of the student and is recognised as an essential element in the formation process. It encourages the student to be independent and self-supporting.
It also challenges him to live his faith in an environment which is often apathetic or even hostile towards such a commitment.
